The Diocesan Relief Services was launched by the Bishop on 14 May, 2020 following the emergence of numerous challenges of flooding and the COVID 19 pandemic which was directly affecting the welfare of Christians and the Church in the Anglican Diocese of Bondo (Bondo and Rarieda Sub Counties).
The Committee led by the Lord Bishop as Patron is Chaired by Canon Elly Wanyonyi Osiemo and comprises of other 8 members Namely:
- 1. Canon Justice Onyango Otieno
- 2. Walter Winja
- 3. Henry Airo
- 4. Jane Opondo
- 5. Capt. Dorothy Ochieng
- 6. Lorna Oyier
- 7. Paul Gwela
- 8. Bob Ong’owo
Through the Department many families have been reached with donations from individual Christians and other development partners.
ADS Nyanza led by the Executive Director Mr. Sam Omondi donated food items, transport and staff to assist in the distribution to families in the areas affected by §oods Usigu Archdeaconry in Imbo being the worst hit.
Brookside Dairies led by Regional Sales Manager Mr. Makori who was representing the Marketing Director Mr. Steve Ochieng also donated 1200 cartons of milk which was also distributed to over 300 families in the Diocese.
