DISTRIBUTION OF RELIEF TO ACK SPONSORED SCHOOLS

DIOCESAN RELIEF SERVICES DISTRIBUTION OF RELIEF TO ACK SPONSORED SCHOOLS. The Anglican Diocese of Bondo through the Diocesan Relief Services Kitty chaired by Canon Elly Osiemo distributed cereals to its sponsored schools in the month of June 2021. Having considered and consulted with Archdeacons from respective Archdeaconries, 16 schools were identified to benefit from the relief package; both boarding and day secondary schools across the Diocese. This move was conceived following the looming Covid 19 crisis in the Lake Region counties among them our mother county, Siaya whose greater  population had been adversely affected in most spheres of their daily engagements as a result of economic hardship. Witnessed by the Rev’d Paul Adhaya, the Diocesan Education Secretary, all principals and representatives of the selected schools received three bags of maize. Close to 50 bags of maize were issued as part of our humanitarian ministration to the society. It is our prayer that God will enable us to further such social ministry in the future. Recipients expressed their gratitude to the office of the Bishop and the Diocese sighting that schools were going through a rough time in their effort to sustain students who were in school then. The situation was spiked by the unstable cash flow in most institutions since recovery of funds from parents or guardians was affected by the existing economic crisis.
